Chalbanggong Head House, a resting place in nature, opened for anyone

Chalbanggong Head House is the head house of Chalbanggong Simdang, who is the 9th descendant of Cheongsong Sim Clan Ageungong. It was built in 1920, and has been designated as Folk Cultural Heritage No. 13.

The house has a firewood Ondol room, a large yard and a garden. Its wallpaper is made of Korean traditional Hanji, and also Hanshil bedding is prepared in the room. It is located in the quietest place of the village, you can hear birds chirping and the sound of wind in a peaceful atmosphere.

This house has a ‘ㄷ’ shaped structure and the gate is facing north, as you can find it interesting. It wasn't a 'ㄷ‘ shaped structure when it was constructed, but the shape of the structure was ‘ㅁ’ with a yard inside. However, the grass-roofed building with mills in it had gotten old to be taken down, which made the current shape of the structure.

In the precinct, there is a shrine where the ancestral tablet is kept.
